There is a herd of Scottish Highland cattle in Stowe, Vermont. I am up there quite often taking photos for a cow calendar that we make for our daughter every year for Christmas. I captured this image on a mid-November morning after a mountain top dusting of snow the night before. The cow was enjoying some of the last rays of sunshine before winter truly set in. I had to lay down in a very muddy section of the adjacent field in order to avoid including the fence in the photo.
